DIANA STELIN

PAINTER/PROPRIETOR

An active member in Boston’s art community, Diana Stelin managed DTR Modern Galleries on Newbury Street, with outposts in New York, Palm Beach and Washington DC for over seven years. Ms. Stelin has developed the business from the ground up and saw it through its multiple new endeavors including auctions, international art fairs, and introduction of new contemporary talent. She traveled to such important events as the Venice Biennale, FIAC Paris, LA Art Show and Art Basel Miami, among others, in search of new markets, as well as new talent and trends.

Ms. Stelin comes with a wealth of knowledge about Art History and keeps herself very up to date on current trends in the quickly developing global art world. The most rewarding task for her over the years has been the arts education of her loyal discerning collectors. They included renowned international celebrities such as Kanye West, Luciana Gimenez Morad, Jason Biggs, Alberto Aquilani among others.

Educating clientele has been very much akin to her years of teaching children at the Nandi School of Art prior to launching DTR Modern. The satisfaction of sharing her passion for the arts and her desire to offer her expertise to the community fueled her to champion her own art school here in Boston for children and adults.

Ms. Stelin holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Painting from Cornell University and a Master’s Degree in Arts Administration from Boston University. She studied abroad in Paris, Rome, Moscow, London and Sydney. Diana has served on multiple professional portfolio panels. She is an accomplished painter, author and public speaker
Her work can be found on her personal website.

MEDIA, TECHNIQUE, STYLE
Yulia’s expressive and seemingly effortless mixed media works depict contemporary events and experiences, including meditative museum and café scenes, unfathomable views of historical sites, cinematic atmosphere of the streets of Boston, and flaming eccentricity of fashion shows. The artist addresses a wide range of social concerns, such as environment, culture, ethnicity, and peace. Dramatic and illustrative quality of Yulia’s paintings comes from synthesis of candid and undistorted perception, spontaneous execution, unexpected color choice, academic drawing skills and graphic design concepts.
